Vaping Around the World

Vaping has become a way of life for so many people across the United States. We have a wide access to vaping shops in almost every corner. Needless to say, competition is everywhere. How has the Vaping Industry been able to flourish so much here in the U.S.? Well, perhaps one of the reasons is because the FDA has not had a full grip on this promising industry, thankfully. However, people from other countries across the world have not been so fortunate. They have been given restrictions from their governments or have even been banned from vaping.

Countries like Argentina, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Turkey have banned vaping following the advice of the World Health Organization. Also, countries like Hong Kong, Denmark, Canada, South Africa, Switzerland, and Sweden have not fully banned vaping but have added restrictions as to how much nicotine is allowed into their country or what kind of hardware items can be imported. This, in turn, has caused a lot of confusion and even fines and prison time. Travelers have been caught in the crossfire as well because of this.

In Hong Kong, possessing or selling e-liquids containing nicotine can put you in prison for up to two years and large fine because nicotine is considered as being poisonous, according to Hong Kong.

Communication is key when traveling. Preparing ahead of time will save you some time and money. Contact your airline about what kind of restrictions they have in place. Some airports that are known to allow vaping are Barcelona, Budapest, Cairo, Athens, and Milan.  In the UK, if you are departing from Heathrow, vaping is allowed as long as you are at the gate. However, vaping anywhere within the terminal is off-limits at Glasgow or Edinburgh. Will this stay in effect? No one really knows. Countries are still trying to figure things out and until then, it is everyone’s sole responsibility to stay up-to-date with the laws.
