However, that might all change because the Senate has voted to ban the USPS from mailing vaping products through Senate Bill 1253 (S. 1253). While it isn’t an outright ban on online sales, this will make it a lot more difficult (and expensive) to receive your vape products.

The Consequences of Banning Vape Mail

Vape mail is integral to getting your vape products, especially if you don’t live near a vape shop (i.e. you live in remote areas). The eJuices.com team believes you should always have access to vape products, and access to vape mail is an important part of that process. This would push delivery to other services such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL. This may raise the price of vaping products by as much as $20 per order. This could hurt low-income vapers, and add to the cost of doing business for online vape retailers, who may pass the cost on to consumers as a result.

Pushing delivery to private carriers may also have other unintended consequences given the current circumstances. There may be unnecessary points of contact that could increase the risk of COVID-19, and private companies could also be pressured by opponents of the vaping industry to stop shipping vape products altogether, cutting off nearly all access to flavors and vape products.

Keeping Vape Mail Legal

There are also illicit sellers of vape products. Vaping360 reports that eBay accounts and other unregulated online dealers will continue to operate regardless of S. 1253 or any other legislation that is passed. eBay accounts usually have generic names that they can use to cloak themselves as dealers of vape products. eJuices.com supports T21 legislation and it is important that we help root out illicit online vape dealers to keep vape products out of the hands of underage consumers. This will have a more meaningful impact on keeping vape products out of the hands of the youth.
